Previous SNDA Officers | 2018-2019

President: Brianna Davis

Growing up in a military family, Brianna had the privilege of experiencing a variety of cultures and cuisines at a young age.  After graduating high school in Las Vegas, she attended the University of Nevada, Reno, where she received her bachelor’s in biology.  During her time in Reno, Brianna was a pre-dental student, and gave presentations to elementary school students about the importance of proper nutrition and how those decisions affect oral hygiene.  This fueled her fascination with nutrition and wellness.  After working for a couple of years, and with the encouragement of family, she decided to go back to school to study nutrition.

Brianna’s involvement with UNLV SNDA has given her many opportunities to be active in the Las Vegas community, and to interact with students with likeminded goals.  On campus, Brianna has volunteered with UNLV Athletics on various health initiatives, given nutrition presentations to UNLV Greek organizations, and served as your Food Day Chair for the Fall 2017 semester.  Brianna is glad to be a part of an organization that wants to see its members succeed, and is looking forward to carrying the tradition into the 2018-2019 school year.

VP of Activities: Sierra Kuno

IMG_1404Sierra Kuno was born in Fort Collins, Colorado but was raised in Cheyenne, Wyoming. She grew up playing almost every sport and was tremendously active. After graduating from high school she played soccer for a community college in Wyoming.  Here is where she found her love for nutrition and exercise. Being an athlete, she was required to train in the weight room. With proper technique and hard work, she became passionate about lifting weights, and after taking a nutrition course the basics of nutrition came natural to her. She started to implement healthy eating habits into her everyday lifestyle which ultimately helped her sports performance. Sierra started to see what nutrition and exercise could do for the body, physical appearance, mental state, energy levels, and over all happiness. She fell in love with the process and decided she wanted to make it a part of her career. Sierra still holds the traits of a completive athlete and loves to challenge herself and try different activities. In 2015, Sierra moved to Las Vegas to pursue her love for nutrition and exercise. She is now starting her senior year at UNLV studying Nutrition Sciences in the hopes to become a Registered Dietitian Nutritionist. Her goal is to promote healthy eating habits to prevent diseases and limit nutritional deficiencies in the health care system. She encourages students to join SNDA because through the organization she has created many friendships, volunteer opportunities, and networking experiences. In her free time, she enjoys hanging out with friends and family, hiking, paddle boarding, sitting in the sauna, going to the gym, laying out by the pool, and trying new recipes.

VP of Communications: Rebecca Richter 📧:

Becky” was born in Riverside, CA. Soon after moving to Las vegas, she attended CSN and received an AA in architecture design, while pregnant with her twin boys. Being pregnant with twins she saw the importance of proper nutrition and found the science of food fascinating. A few years later, she decided to follow her passion in nutrition and health. She is currently in her senior year at UNLV, pursing her bachelor’s in nutrition science. Her hobbies include art, music, and vegan food. She has a great passion for animal welfare and health and has been a strong advocate for animals’ rights groups here in Las Vegas.  She believes it’s the small choices people make that have the biggest impact, and nothing is simpler yet also more far-reaching than changing how you treat others, and what you choose to eat. She believes people should support one another and make the world a healthier place, but it starts by making some changes, changes for better.

“We are all here for a short time but, in the end living a well-intentioned and compassionate life is what ultimately matters the most”.
